TSIO-520 to a P.Ponk
O-470-50 SUPER EAGLE

The conversion of a Continental TSIO-520 to a P. Ponk O-470-50 SUPER EAGLE requires mostly external modifications. Most noticeably is the removal of the turbo charger and replacement of the fuel injection system with a modified carburetor. New low compression pistons are precision balanced to within .5 grams and installed in your choice of cylinders, we'll be happy to discuss your various options. The oil pump is modified and a different oil pan is installed. The finished product is essentially a precision balanced, carburated O-520 with a horsepower rating of 265-275 hp. Recommended TBO for the O-470-50 is 2,000 hours.

A derated , precision balanced engine offers several advantages, including significantly improved performance, smoother operation, less maintenance, and a longer TBO. A smooth running engine also reduces pilot fatigue and increases passenger comfort.
